An American company is likely to become the new sponsor of the upcoming Chinese soccer Super League.
Local media report that an American company has offered 55 million yuan, or over 6.6 million US dollars, to become the new sponsor.
The company didn’t want its name publicized while the deal is under discussion, but it’s reported to be a telecommunications enterprise.
The possible deal comes at a time when the Super League’s new season was likely to start without any sponsorship.
Siemens decided to terminate its 80-million-yuan sponsorship deal in the wake of a turbulent Super League season last year. Another four sub-sponsors also refused to step forward to provide a helping hand. |
